Congratulations High Honor Graduates

Thursday evening, we proudly recognized our High Honor Graduates. These students earned an impressive GPA of 4.75 or higher during their high school careers. We were honored to welcome Letitia Hamilton Verdin, South Carolina Supreme Court Justice and proud SHS graduate, who shared an uplifting message with students about the bright futures ahead of them and the importance of leadership, character, and strong skills for success.
In addition, we celebrated our High Honor Teachers, recognizing one outstanding elementary, middle, and high school teacher from each area for their exceptional impact on students and commitment to educational excellence.

Teacher Appreciation Week

As we’ve shared throughout the week, we are fortunate to have some of the very best educators anywhere serving our students each and every day. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of children across our district. As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, we invite our families and community to join us in celebrating and thanking all of the teachers and staff members who support, encourage, and inspire our students every day.

Celebrating our School Nurses!

May 6th we celebrated our incredible school nurses! Thank you for the care, compassion, and calm you bring to our schools every single day. From supporting student health to being a reassuring presence when it matters most, you make a difference in ways big and small. We are grateful for all you do! Happy School Nurse Day!

United FC Oconee Tryouts

May 15 & 16
6:00-7:30 PM
Walhalla High SchooliSoccer tryouts are just around the corner!
Boys and Girls U8-U18s

Whether you’ve been playing for years or you’re stepping onto the field for the first time, tryouts are all about effort, attitude, and teamwork. Coaches aren’t just looking for skill, they’re looking for players who communicate, support each other, and give their best every single drill.

Make sure to come prepared:
• Bring water and stay hydrated
• Wear proper gear (cleats, shin guards, comfortable athletic wear)
• Arrive early and ready to go
• Most importantly—bring a positive mindset

Remember, confidence goes a long way. Don’t be afraid to take chances, make plays, and learn from mistakes. Every great player started somewhere!
